I had to redo every part of this sweater, but I'm glad I did, because now I have a sweater that I actually like to wear!

My only beef with it is that the body didn't have shaping, but the arms fit well, and I like the way the owls and the yoke turned out.

This was three patterns in one (my specialty...I like that, but I think I'll change it to...): Red Rings by Tonia Barry, O.W.L.S. by Kate Davies, and EPS Yoke Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmermann.

I did the sleeves two at a time on one circular needle, toe-up sock style.

You can read about the adventure here (http://knittingescapade.wordpress.com/).

I like that it's washable (Wool-ease) but I wish, now, that I'd made in less pill-y yarn.

Very pretty! You did a great job of "marrying" the patterns -- nice work. Lovely color, too.

Ooo, I like the way you put all the elements of the 3 different patterns together. The owls in the yoke are cool, without big googly eyes they look very 'grown up'.

The original o.w.l.s. pattern calls for using buttons for the eyes, but at my size that would have been 56 buttons. Not! Then I was going to use a gray colored thread to overstitch the eye-purls, but when I finally got done with the sweater I realized I had two choices: 1. Put the sweater in the "needs more work" pile or 2. Wear it as is. I chose the latter. ;)
