So, while thinking through this question ONE LAST TIME I THINK I may have finally understood it. HOWEVER, I'm still waiting for the coffee to brew and wanted to ask you guys if I'm right or still wrong, and if wrong, what is this pattern telling me to do?
So sorry to bother you but my pregnant brain is having a next to impossible time figuring out something on the "garter stitch baby kimono" pattern and I thought I'd ping you to see if you can help me. PLEASE...
I'm at the 11cm (where, in addition to decreasing for the neck - which I am understanding), I'm also to,
"cast off 2 sts for the armhole openings (1 on each side of the markers), leaving 54 sts for the back." okay...I understand that
"Join in new balls and continue working each side separately."
Here I'm lost. I've got a ton of yarn left in my skein...no new balls and didn't see mention of needing/making add'l balls earlier in pattern
This morning, pre-coffee, I was hit with the notion that maybe I need to, once I've done the row where I CO 2sts for the armholes, thereby leaving me with 54 sts on the back side, then MAKE some balls of yarn and work the 3 pieces (front right, back, front left) as though they were 3 separate things on my needles that I'm knitting with 3 different threads, until done.
By George, I think, just by asking all you I may have FINALLY (after more time focused on it that I care to admit) figured it out... No? Does this sound reasonable/right?
This is a free downloadable pattern from Raverly.
