A plarn bag made from recycled plastic bags was my Earthday project. I just made up a pattern. It was to imperfect to give away but will make a nice beach bag for me.

pretty much like the link Amy gave, although I folded my bags and didn't roll them but same difference. Google Plarn and you'll find ideas and patterns too.

I think that your bag turned out great...just wonder how hard the plastic is to knit with? I want to try this, as I have a huge collection of plastic bags.

This is REALLY neat! I will have to give this a go once I finish Finals and some projects I've been working on. What to make, what to make....

You're right about the plastic though, it was sort of a pain to knit. Not so bad that I wouldn't do it again but it wasn't yarn, that's for sure. LOL I used sz 10 needles and I think that helped a bit. It got easier as I went along. I did work on it and the doll at the same time because I wanted to take breaks from the plastic.

Nice. One of these days I'm going to try that myself. How wide did you cut the strips? What size needle?

Thats neat, hopefully one day I'll have the skill to knit a larger bag. Did you think to knit a "shopping bag" out of recycled bags? The ultiment in "green bags" lol just a thought though I might have to try it.
