View Full Version : WOOHOO a gift of yarn !

One of the ladies I work with brought me a HUGE bag of yarn today. Turns out her family used to raise sheep and send the wool off to be spun and dyed. She doesn't like to knit (I know, it's a wonder I'm still her friend) so she gave it to me !!!
Hehe - hubby not impressed b/c our house is up for sale and there is literally no room for more yarn in the house. I've already hidden it in boxes under the bed and in the closets...my oh so wonderful LYS has agreed to store it for me : )

that is such a nice gift... but you know, since you are lacking space because your house is for sale... i would be willing to take it off your hands ;)

oh how can I help, oh I could keep it for you until the house is sold:)
Safe and sound oh yeah it may come back as a sweater, slippers, shawls, hats, socks, or one giant blanket.:)
Good luck with the house and the yarn. Everyone should have wonderful friends like yours.

It's soo old that some of it has discolored, but most of it seems wonderful. The bulky of it appears to be worsted weight and the discolored stuff is super bulky. I think I will make her a few potholders as guage swatches and then she would like a felted bag. After that I was thinking slippers and a bag for me : )

I appreciate all the offers to store it for me .... my LYS owner offered the same thing : )
