I've been asked to knit a pair of gloves to display at Cottage Yarn (http://www.cottageyarn.com/), using the pattern in the latest issue of Vogue Knitting.

I've chosen to make them with a natural shaded yarn, to show the detail of the lace panel better.

So far, I've finished the cuffs and hands of both gloves, as well as the little fingers. They are looking very nice!

Wow! Just great and I agree with you about the lighter color showing the panel off better.

Thank you all!

I should be finished with all the fingers soon, and will post more photos. I've been asked to help teach the class they will be having in October. I've never taught a knitting class before, so wish me luck!

But, you've certainly taught me a thing or 3:teehee:
and, I'm sure I'm not the only one!

If you teach basically the same as your videos...they'll be knitting up a storm in no time!:knitting: :knitting:

Can't wait to see the new pics:notworthy:

Thank you! I'm certainly proud of them.
I've set them aside to work on a couple other projects, but plan on finishing them up before the end of the month.

Sandy, you teach music, you can teach knitting. At least the people there aren't being forced into it by their parents. ;)

You'll do great.

BTW, I LOVE the gloves. That's one item I've never even thought of knitting.

:teehee: True!
You know, when I have a student that looks like they HATE taking piano, I usually tell their parent to let them choose a different hobby. I can't stand teaching someone that doesn't want to learn. It's miserable for BOTH of us!

beautiful. I much prefer the colour you chose to the one from vogue too :)

Today, I am finishing the last finger on the gloves, then I'll be ready to do the thumbs, and weave in all the loose ends.

While working on the last finger, I decided to do a video, so I could remember how I did them. I might need to reference this when teaching the class at Cottage Yarn.

Wow! (and, incidentally, you always have great backgrounds too.)

Thanks Melanie!
My craft room is filled with craft stuff - sewing, knitting, spinning, needlepoint and embroidery. And all my music stuff is in there too.

Sometimes, I put my knitted items on my bed to take a photo, and other times, I'll put them on the cedar chest or a bench. Occasionally, I'll put them on my car outside in the sunlight. Just depends on the size of the item, and my mood. :teehee:
