Any suggestions for what I could use as stiffening for the peak of a peaked cap I am knitting?

Lionbrand sells some yarn with stainless steel in it, and if you held that together with your main yarn, that could help. Also, there are things that sewers use to stiffen fabric. If you have a sewing shop near you, such as Joann's, you might take it in and show them and ask what they suggest.

Read down to the section called peak stabilizer in this cap. SHe suggests cheap plastic placemats.

Thank you for your suggestions. I might even try knitting that ivy cap.
