I can't even begin to explain how satisfying it was to finish this pattern after starting it 5 times and frogging it 4!

As soon as my brain started working it went really fast and it was super easy :o)

:thumbsup:Now this is one darn nice hat, Evan! I like the beanie style...or skull cap...or whatever it's called...and it has just the right amount of texturization!

Very nice work!!

Thanks so much!!! The yarn was SO soft, and on sale, and I just couldn't pass it up. Or course I had no clue what I would use it for... but this pattern just jumped out at me when I first saw it. I used almost 1 skein for the hat, and it seems to be the perfect weight for a pretty fall hat.

I can't wait to get the phone call from my friend when it magically shows up in her mailbox - she's the type of person who REALLY appreciates handcrafted items!

I love it too, very pretty!...and it looks so complex and difficult to make. I'm sure your friend will be impressed. Was it difficult in any way? It must have been at first, for all the frogging you did. I'd like to learn this one. Where would I find the pattern?

It really isn't difficult at all, I just kept having issues actually following the pattern (ie. the dog would jump on my lap, or I'd be enthralled with something on tv lol).

Here's a link to the pattern - I just LOVE how the top comes out!

That looks so soft and pretty Evan. You did a great job. Now I want to make one too, but I think I might increase the ribbing to make it longer :)

Thank you! I copied it out and will be starting on it soon. Did you use a circular needle?

I used DPNs just because that's what I had on hand, it went really fast - I think only 4 pattern repeats and then I did the decrease. It fits my head (though I look ridiculous in it) and covers the tips of my ears, so it will probably fit over at least half of my friends ear.

I watched a magic loop video on knitpicks website last night that 'almost' has me convinced that I need to learn that method ;o)
