I'm making a scarf based on the "horseshoe" cable pattern in the Bella mitts. Here's the pattern I'm using for the scarf:
Rows 1-6: K2, P2 rib across
Row 7: (K2, P2) x3,
slip 3 sts onto cable needle held in front, K next 3sts
slip 3 sts onto cable needle held in back, K next 3sts
(K2, P2) x3
Row 8: K2, P2 rib across
It results in a cable pattern that looks like this:
/\
/\
/\
up the middle of the scarf.
What I'd like to do, is once I reach half way, I'd like the cables to start going in the other direction, like this:

For the life of me, though, I can't figure out how to do the cable pattern to make it do what I want. Can anyone more well versed in cables help? thanks!
