Clueless. Mind not fresh. Mind sidelined somewhere! :wall:
I've now frogged portions of the Right Front twice...and the last time...I had the entire Right Front done...and realized I hadn't matched the Back to the Front from hem to armhole bindoffs. Gah! My Right Front was missing 8 rows.
Frog, frog, frog...and much agitation. :eyes:

Hi! I´m a beginner, and I´m just getting started on the Lett Lopi Vest Vormorgun. It´s my first more complicated project (ie non-scarf...) and I´m having trouble reading the pattern. It´s worked bottom up and in-the round.

For the last part of the body, it says "Do not work last 5 (5) 6 (6) 7 sts of last rnd." It then goes on with the yoke of the vest.
What does "do not work" mean? Slip the stitches?

I´d be really grateful for any help!

It is 3 strands of color and I have made it all the way through turning the heel, top down sock pattern, and all of a sudden a single strand of yarn has started turning up sticking out about 2 rows down. The first time I cut it and pulled it through and tied it back together, and darned if it didn't happen with the next color. What am I doing wrong?

I just finished using up all the yarn I had allocated for a blanket. I ran out of yarn before it was as long as I want and I wish I had made it a little wider. I think I should know the answer to my questions but my brain has imploded and left me unable to figure it out. :???:

The blanket is worked in moss or double seed stitch so I have 2 knit rows and 2 purl rows repeating up the sides. Stockinette calls for picking up 3 sts every 4 rows but I think the alternating knits and purls might call for something different. Could I go down from sz. 10.5 needles to sz. 10 and just pick up 1 st for each row? I know for sweater fronts I've gone down a needle size because I want the front band tighter and don't think it matters much on this blanket edge.

I currently intend to go down to sz. 10 needles to pick up and knit across the ends using garter stitch. I may stumble across something that will cause me change my mind. As this is a stash project I might decide to use different colors that I have small amounts of and may find a pattern other than just plain stripes that I find interesting but simple enough for nearly mindless knitting. Any suggestions about this would be welcome also.

I'm attaching a photo of the edge so you can see what I'm working with. HTH

Thanks! :muah:

Just finished ANOTHER project! Go me! This will hopefully be a productive summer as far as knitting goes!

These are my BFF Socks, a Cookie A pattern that you can find in her book Knit. Sock. Love.

The yarn is Happy Feet. I bought it in Seattle, WA, two years ago when my family went on a cruise to Alaska. There was yarn in EVERY port, I kid you not!

The yarn was great to work with...good thing because I had to frog the first sock after I'd turned the heel and realized it was too big (went down to a size 0 needle and the XS sock size, which made the socks fit perfectly afterward), and I also had to frog the second sock after finishing the leg portion because somewhere along the line, I'd started doing the cable round on the wrong round number! Ugh. Sometimes it's the simplest patterns that can throw us the most!

Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy the pictures!

So, I was working on knitting my scarf just now (since I knit at a snail's pace, I am making myself get it done by the fall), and I've noticed that my hands were getting fairly sweaty. Its probably due to the weather being very hot. Its been in the low 90's here all week, and despite the A.C. being on, its still felt in the house (granted its time to get a new unit as our current one is well over 15 years old and showing its age, but alas, money is tight). I even have the ceiling fan turned on.

I just want my work to not be saturated in sweat!! Its kind of gross. Thankfully, the scarf is not going to be gifted to anyone (unless you include gifting to yourself), but still, I want it to be dry and smelling nice. I suppose I could throw the scarf into the wash (its only acrylic yarn) when I am done with it.

I hate this hot weather!! :gah: :hot:

Transitioning from knitting in the round to knitting flat

I started a sweater years ago, a year or two after I learned how to knit. I found a picture of it on ravelry:

http://www.ravelry.com/projects/momo...een-aran-woman

I got pretty close to being finished but lost track of where I was and since then my tension is a lot looser. I picked it up recently, decided to frog the whole thing, and wanting to avoid seams as much as possible, have begun to knit it in the round.

I am rows away from knitting it flat; I am wondering, should I just cast on one stitch on each side of the front and back for the seams for attaching the sleeves?

Any advice for transitioning from knitting in the round to knitting flat? I am hoping I will be able keep my tension about the same as when I was knitting it in the round.
