beginner needs help with v-neck sweater neckline pattern!!!!

hi all, i'm desperately trying to complete my first sweater and i'm stuck. the pattern is as follows:

FRONT
work as for Back until piece measures approx 17" from beginning, ending with a WS row.
Neck Shaping
Pattern across first 50 sts, place centre st onto a safety pin, join new balls ad work to end row.
Work sides separately and at the same time as follows:
RS Row: Pattern across to last 4 sts, k3tog, k1; for second side, k1, sssk, pattern to end.
WS row: pattern across to last 2 sts, p2; for second side, p2, pattern to end. Rep last 2 rows for 7 times more - 34 sts on each side.
Next Dec Row: Pattern across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1, for second side, 1, ssk, pattern to end.
Next Row: Pattern acorss to last 2 sts, p2; for second side, p2, pattern to end. Rep last 2 rows for 11 times more. Work even on rem 22 sts for each shoulder to same length as Back. Shape shoulders as for Back.

what does this all mean?! please help! greatly appreciated.

Because of the V neck you work the front in 2 sections.

Work across 50 st, continuing the pattern as before, put the next st on a safety pin (or paper clip), that's the center stitch, then drop your yarn and with a new end, finish the row.
Then turn and do a WS row - work in pattern until 2 sts before you separated the fronts, p2. Drop the yarn and pick up the other one, p2 and work in pattern to the end of the row.

Turn and for a RS row - work in pattern to the last 4 sts, k3tog, k1; drop the yarn and k1, sssk and work in pattern to end.
Repeat these rows another 7 times until you have 34 sts on each front.

Then do one row on the RS - Pattern across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1, for second side, 1, ssk, pattern to end. And then another WS row. Do these another 11 times until there's 22 sts each side, and work in pattern with no decs until the same length as when you began the shoulder shaping for the back and shape the shoulders the same way you did there.
