PHILDAR ~ Are You Familiar with This Yarn?
Andalouse by Phildar
This beautiful skein of yarn was in a box of wool yarns I received as a trade from a knitter that frequents this site. It has a wonderful feel to it. Sorry, I would post a picture but my memory card refuses to work just now. It contains 26% wool, 26% acrylic, 22% mohair, 16% polyester, & 10% nylon. It calls for a #4-9 US needle, weighs 50 gram (1 oz.), and is 74 yards in length. Does anyone have a suggestion what to use it for? It would probably work great for a shawl if there were enough skeins. I only have the one and I doubt it’s enough for a scarf or cap. I thought about a baby item, but it is hand washable only. If no one here is able to help me, I guess my next stop will be to see if there are other skeins listed on ravelry.com. Maybe there I can purchase enough to make a shawl with or place it for trade or sale here. I wanted to hear what opinions you all might have first. |
That might be enough for a hat if you used a size 10 needle, or possibly a neckwarmer.

I agree with Suzeeq. A neckwarmer would be wonderful, and useful! I need to make myself a neckwarmer, too! I have a few cute patterns in my Ravelry QUEUE!

Here's a picture of it.
I looked through every page on Ravelry for this brand and apparently my skein has been discontinued. Phildar ~Andalouse was not found there. Thanks for the suggestions. |
I love Phildar yarns and patterns too. I used to have a little LYS in my tiny town that carried Phildar in the past, but I don't know if you can get Phildar without getting it direct from France now. I'm thinking of a project right now that I want some for, but will just have to find a substitute.
Lucky find! I agree with the neck warmer or hat. |
