KNITTING BORDER FOR BABY BLANKET

I am finished knitting a baby blanket and need some help getting the border started. I am curious as to how i would go about doing this...Should I pick up all stitches on all four corners and then just knit around the blanket ? But then what size circular needle do you need and how many ? Or do I pick up the stitches on one side of the blanket and knit one side at a time ? Any help you can assist me with is greatly appreciated. This is my first blanket and I am really excited about it. Bless You Thank You for your help :) Sheba

There are lots of ways it can be accomplished and it depends on how you want it to look... Here's a thread that explains how to do it one side at a time and create mitered corners.
