neat seam

I'm knitting my first baby sweater (my first niece is expecting her first baby!! :woohoo: ) and the only experience I have with a seam was on a mitten. I was able to follow the instruction on this site to do that seam. My problem is the sweater alternates knits and purls on the edge and I can't see the V's. I'm afraid my seams are going to be a mess. Any suggestions?

Actually, you can use the mattress stitch on this as well. Pick up the bars of the knits and the bumps of the purls and you should get a nice seam.

Thanks!

I see what you mean! Thank you so much. This is the first time I've posted and it's so great to get such a quick answer. I don't have any kntting friends to go to...well, I can't say that anymore. :)
