I need help increasing a hat pattern.

I have a pattern for a baby but need to increase it for a 3 year old. Any suggestions?

Well, without the pattern in front of me I can't give specifics, but I would figure out what circumference the current pattern is creating, and increase it to aim for a circumference of 16 inches (standard toddler head circ.). This may be as easy as casting on a few more stitches (for something simple like stockinette or garter), or adding another multiple or two of a pattern if the hat has a certain patern (ex. cables). Then I would give it just a bit more length as well.

What pattern is it, how is it made, what size yarn and needles does it use? There's lots of ways to make it larger depending on the answeres to those questions.
