first time knitter Q....
 

Hello all I am a long time crochet-er and now first time knitter, and this pattern has me stumped. It says "change to smaller needles and pat 1 row" I figured out the rest of the pattern (so far) easy enough but does this mean I continue the same pattern for 1 row with the smaller needles or something else? Any help greatly appreciated. :)
