what does "work six stitches from needle mean"
 

i am making a sweater for my yorkie in a basketweave stitch. so far i have two parts of my project on stitch holders my project is now teling me to work six stitches from needle and then to cast on 6 stitches.-what do i have to do?

Just knit 6 stitches, then cast on 6 sts.
