ten stitch blanket
 

I would like to try the ten stitch blanket and have figured out all the stitches except the very first line of the pattern. Please help. It says:

Cast on 10 stitches. Slipping all first sts, knit 9 ridges (18 rows)

I don't understand. Do you slip all 10 stitches at once? how do you then make the 9 ridges (18 rows)? I'm very confused but really want to try this blanket.

What it means (but could have said much better) is that for every row of this section, you slip the first stitch and knit the rest.

Row 1: Slip the first stitch, Knit all the rest
Row 2: Slip the first stitch, Knit the rest

etc........ Until you have however many rows you need. You only slip the FIRST stitch of every row.
