FO: Hush-A-Bye Baby Shawl
2 Attachment(s)
A lady in Australia asked me if I could replicate a shawl for her. It was a family heirloom knit by her great grandmother who passed away 20 years ago. She had taken the shawl to the dry cleaners in preparation for the impending birth of her baby and the 1st photo is what she got back.
She was fortunate enough to find the original pattern (folded sheets torn from a 1945 magazine) and I was able to replace her ruined shawl. |
What a beautiful job and such a treasure !

Beautiful!

I'm so glad this story has a happy ending. You've made a beautiful shawl to welcome the new baby.
|
Such beautiful work!
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: |
Absolutely glorious. I'm sure this one will go on to be passed down to the next generation and the next. That's beautiful work!!

That's wonderful! It turned out beautifully! :inlove: How atrocious they ruined the other one. I think I would probably still be standing there yelling at them!!!
|
That blanket is absolutely gorgeous! I bet this woman is going to be so thrilled! Thanks for sharing the story with us. And kudos to you for coming to her rescue.
Note to self: Do NOT take valuable items to be dry cleaned! |
No definitely should not have been taken to the dry cleaners. It should be hand washed especially if it's a precious heirloom.
|
Oh! That is so pretty! And what a wonderful thing to do. Hooray for you!!
:cheering: :yay: :happydance:  |
