joining seams

Hi, does anyone recommend a neat way of joining pieces of a sweater made with just knit stitch every row?
Thank you
Lesleyb

Most people use mattress stitch to seam up the pieces, no matter what stitch they used for them. There's a video under Finishing on the Tips page.

Here's also a nice tutorial for mattress stitch seams on garter stitch (knit every row).

Thank you will have a look at that one.

I have to confess to not blocking my pieces before seaming, have been too impatient. Will do this in future, hopefully my finished items will improve. Also I am guilty of not knitting a swatch to check the gauge :(. If I had taken the time to do this prehaps garments will fit !

It's worth it to take the time for all these little finishing techniques becausse they contribute to a more polished garment. I find that doing a gauge swatch saves time and effort in the end. For me, it's an essential.

Yes I know, just can't wait to get started that's the problem. Will do this in future, and I will look at all the videos to see how it's done :)
Thank you
