Does anyone know how to make this?

Hi! I'm looking for a similar pattern to a hood/hat I saw on tumblr. http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/archaic...ore=1344664414 it's partway down the page, grey and blue Cheshire Cat hood. The woman who made it doesn't have a pattern for the public, and I'm really interested in making something similar.

Any help would be appreciated!

It looks like you'd just sew a seam down the back of your knit scarf. If you're not on Ravelry (I assume you knit) then you should join and check there. There are several free hooded scarves that you could make and then make ears to sew on top. I don't know what the heck is going on with those tails onthe ends.

It does look like the edging is a very wide ribbing--maybe 4x4 or even 6x6--something like that. Then you'd continue with the hood and instead of seaming it up the back via knit stitches, you'd lace it up. And use really large yarn--like extra bulky, too.
