Pattern question

Hello
I am a new knitter and I made this washcloth several months ago. I do not remember what stitch pattern I used. Can anyone identify the pattern for me? I would like to make more. Thank you |
Is it a k1, p2 rib? The other side would then be k2, p1. That's what it looks like to me.
|
This looks to me like a reversible pattern that should look the same on front and back:
Cast on a multiple of 3 stitches. row 1 (k2p1) across the row row 2 k1, p1 (k2p1) across the row, k1. Only the directions in parentheses are repeated across the row. Love the color combination you chose. What yarn were you using? |
GrumpyGramma: Thank you very much for getting back to me so quickly. I plan on knitting tonight and will try it. Thanks again.
salmonmac: Thank you for replying so quickly. You are correct, the pattern is indeed reversible. The yarn I used is Peaches and Creme cotton, the color is Purple Petunia and I bought the cone at WalMart for about $8.00. I can't find it there anymore but you can purchase it on-line on their website. I just ordered another one this morning. I will be knitting tonight and will be trying the pattern you recommended. I won't trust my memory anymore and write down any pattern I try in the future! :knitting: |
Are you sure that this is knitted? Appears to be a single crochet pattern.
|
It doesn't look like crochet to me. I'm sure salmonmac has the pattern written out correctly.
|
I thought it was crocheted too, through the back loop so it has a knit st column look. I can't see any purls at all.
|
Hi,
I tried your pattern suggestion and it is close but there is still something missing next to the knit row where it looks like a V. Thanks. |
That pattern should give you the basic repeat: a knit column (V's), a purl column (bumps) and a garter stitch column. See if you can stretch the stitches and see what's missing on either one side or the other.

Row 1 (k3,p1) to last 3 sts, k3 Row 2 k1,p1 (k3p1) to last st. k1 This pattern is reversible. |
