Hand sewing onto something knit made?

I haven't tried to sew anything onto a finished knit project yet....but was curious...

Could I hand sew a zipper into a knit purse I made? I just can't imagine it staying in. Would the thread slip right through the yarn? I'll give it a go if I know it can be done. :teehee:

Thank you!!

Ps - My brain fell out in the middle of writing this so sorry if the question doesn't make sense. Lol.

You can sew a zipper onto knit items. I know I have a link somewhere I'll see if I can find it.
