Hi and welcome to Knitting Help.
It's a combination of wandering or snake cables. Instead of crossing the cable knit stitches, you move the 2 knit stitches over the background knit stitches. There's purl stitches between half the cables. I couldn't find the exact pattern but these patterns show you the idea of the wandering cable. You could set up several next to each other for the scarf. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...an-style-scarf http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/snake-scarf-2 Were you thinking of stripes for your pink and blue scarf or something else? Any particular weight yarn? |
thanks there!about d pink n blue yarns, actually i hvent buy them..bt since im going 2 make winter scarf 4 my fren(girl),so mybe ill buy bulky merino/alpaca..her favourite color r those two..like in d picture, there r 2 colors rite(pink n purple)..so its there any scarf pattern tat use 2 striking colors?if only stripe,do u think its too simple?or is it better if i only use one color since there r not similar color?

Here's a video for the basic cable. In this video, the cable is twisted over a background of purl stitches and your picture shows a scarf where the cable wanders over a knit background but the idea of the cable twist is the same.
