What a great way to start the new year! Hi and welcome to knitting and KH.
You could start with the "Getting Started" videos at the top of the page. Lots of good advice and videos there.

On the Tips page, there's a video called Demo of a Small Project. You could look at that first to see the whole picture of how a piece is knit from cast on to bind off. Then begin with cast on videos, see which you like better - the simple or loop cast on actually isn't a good one to start a project with, it's hard to knit into, so use one of the others. Then you can practice the knit and purl stitches, then casting/binding off. You can refer to the Demo video again once you start working a few rows to see how you end a row and start another one.

The videos here are about as good as you're going to find and Amy doesn't chatter away and keep doing the same thing again and again and again and again until I lose interest. You can always play the video again and it's much easier to find the spot you want to see than in some longer videos. The knitted cast on is a good one to learn soon, when you've done it, you're most of the way to actually knitting already. Do keep your cast on loose, probably as loose as you comfortably can manage.
