Fair Isle Knitting

I am "trying" to knit a Fair Isle Christmas stocking. I understand how to read the pattern as far as when to change colors however it told me to cast on 61 stitches but the chart only has 46 stitches to center. How do I maintain the pattern?

hi uraqt!
Would you be able to post a link to the pattern? Is it on Ravelry.com?

Are there arrows at the bottom of the chart or lines through the chart that indicate a section that you should repeat?

It's possible, too, that you can just continue the pattern until you run out of stitches.

A link to the pattern is your best bet to get specific help; or even a picture of the stocking.
