confused
i'm trying to knit a bow for my baby, and it states:
knit the st but do not slip it off the left needle, then purl the same st and the next st together. i tried to do this but when i knit and then try to purl the yarn gets tangled on the needle. what am i doing wrong????? here is the site for the bow: http://www.thesweatshopoflove.com/bl...-bow-headband/ |
After you knit the stitch, bring the yarn to the front of your work between the needles, not over it, then purl into the same stitch and the next stitch.

thank you so much. i pulled the yarn between the needles and purled but after a while my work looks nothing like the picture??? am i doing something wrong???

How far have you gone? Sometimes it takes several rows till it all styles in. If you can post a pic it would help. There is a link in my sig for appropriate sizes and how-to.
|
i've done about 6 rows now and it looks very different the picture. it looks good just not the same. i will try to send you a pic so you can tell me if i'm on the right track. thanks:cheering:

Yep, a picture could help.
|
Post the pic here in this thread. That way more helpers will see it.

i've made it to the bow section and it states to move 6" back and PU 10 sts and then hold the needles together and knit 1 st from each together. ok i'm lost. i pu 10sts and then what exactly happens from here?

It sounds like a 3 needle bind off. There is a video for it in the Bind Offs section of the videos on this site. http://www.knittinghelp.com/video/index

i saw the video, but the pattern doesn't end there. i still have to knit another 12", so i can knit the 2 together like the video then bo when i finish the rest of the pattern?
