Confused...

Wondering if anyone can help, I'm really stuck on figuring out what this means... "Using 8mm needles pick up and knit 7 stitches from 6 cast off stitches at top of left sleeve..."
So how exactly do you pick up 7 stitches from 6 cast off stitches?

Welcome to Knitting Help!
You can pick up one stitch in each of the cast off sts plus one stitch in the space between two stitches.
