Pattern Help:)

Ch 7, sl st in first ch to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), 23 hdc in ring, join with sl st to 2nd ch of beg ch-224 hdc made.

This is my first piece doing a ring like this. Does this mean I do multiple hdc per stitch or does it mean keep going around until I finish 23 hdc?

(This is what it's supposed to be: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...y-top-cover-up )

This video shows how to crochet a circle, she does it the way your instructions say to, just use hdc instead of dc as in the video. You'll work 23 hdc in the ring you form with the chain after it is slip stitched together.

Cute pattern. If you need more help, just say so.

Thank you! That made much more sense.

You're welcome. It gets a lot easier when you know what the instructions mean. I hope you can post a picture when it's done.

You should be working the stitches in the chain space, that is instead of working in the stitch itself you go around the chain. It occurs to me that the only difference between crocheting a square and a circle is in the number of stitches increased so I found this video for a granny square. She shows crocheting into the space, I think that's where you're having a problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11Wh7IOT9BI

There are other crocheters here and they may be better able to help you but HTH.
