Need help how to interpret pattern
Hi everyone,
I started knitting a cardi but stumbled at the part of neck shaping. It's a model from Vogue knitting Fall 2011; model #14 Ribbon Cable Cardi. Here is what it says for neck shaping for Left Front: "Next Row (WS) Bind off 3 (3,4,7) sts (neck edge), work to end. Cont to bind off from neck edge 3 sts 0 (0, 0, 3) times, 2 sts 0 (1, 1, 3) times, dec 1 st every other row 7 (7,7,4) times - 22 (22,24,24) sts." My dilemma: I am knitting for size Small; I start with binding off 3 sts. Then in the instructions for my size it says to bind off 3 sts 0 times. Do I just knit the row without binding off or do I skip straight to the decrease of 1 st every other row 7 times? Thank you in advance for the help! |
Hi and welcome!
You're right in thinking it's "skip straight to the decrease of 1 st every other row 7 times.." Basically it works out to: "Next Row (WS) Bind off 3 (3,4,7) sts (neck edge), work to end. Dec 1 st every other row 7 (7,7,4) times - 22 (22,24,24) sts." |
Thank you so much, it makes sense but I just needed confirmation from an experienced person! :-P
