Ravelry link in signature

Hi there!

I'm new to the forum and am trying to do the link to Ravelry in my signature. I have the tag, and have uploaded it to my signature. I cannot for the life of me determine how to get it to be clickable. I did a search in the archives and can find nothing more recent than 2010 and none of the instructions helped me. I'm totally stumped!:wall:
I would be so grateful for any help!

thank you in advance!

You motivated me to try adding a link. What I did: Copy/pasted the name of the link, highlighted it, clicked on the globe with chain links above the input box, pasted in the URL, clicked OK. Voila! a clickable link. Sometimes you have to have a certain number of posts before a forum will allow things like a clickable link, I don't know if that's the policy here. Have you checked the list of Signature Permissions below your input box? Mine has this: Allow Link BBCode Yes which I think means I can include a link. HTH and thanks for asking and getting me to do mine. :)

ETA: Where are my manners? Hi and Welcome!

I'll have to see if I can find the info. I'll be back.

Here's the buttons. Save one to your computer if you want to do it this way.

We've just moved to a new server so the old info isn't valid for linking that I found. What you do though is put the pic in your signature then click it so it's selected. Then paste the link you want (Your Ravelry projects). Click the paperclip to paste the link. At least I think that is how it works. Try that.

Except yours isn't linking?

Yeah. I noticed that too. Hold on.

EDIT: Its now working. Had to tweak a few things. What I did was I uploaded one of the button pics that is found in the link provided earlier in this thread, then I added it to my signature, then I selected the BBcode that you'll see in the box where you create the signature, and then clicked the linking icon option and pasted the link into the option box, then clicked the "Okay". Now I have a clickable image that is linked to my Raverly profile.

Getting even more frustrated now. I've done as GrumpyGramma instructed. It shows up okay on the "edit signature" page, but when I come here to see my original post, I don't even see the Ravelry icon, much less it being clickable. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.

ETA: I do see the icon now, but for me it's still not clickable, although when I hover my mouse over it I do see a bunch of code that appears to have the link to me on Ravelry.

Sleepy, just do what I said and it should work for you.

EDIT: I think I know what you are doing. I did the same thing.

Just delete everything in between the two sets of brackets. What's inside each set of brackets is what's known as BBCode. Simply highlight both of the bracketed bits of BBCode and THEN click the icon that looks like a little globe with a tiny chain on it. A window will pop up for you to paste the Raverly link into. When you've done that, click "Okay". You should see a line of code with the link to your Raverly in between the bracketed bits of BBCode. Click Save Signature. Now you should have a clickable image in your signature, which links to your Raverly account.

I've done it exactly as instructed, but it still isn't clickable for me, although when I hover my mouse over it, I see the code that should take me to my page on Ravelry. Is it clickable for anyone else?
