Knitting Design Software for Mac

Hello helpful knitters!

I'm looking for Mac friendly software that helps design sweaters. And When I say design program I mean one that lets me plug in measurements, yarn weight and needle size, stitch type, as well as the shape of the pieces to help me figure out the number of stitches.

I have a book, and I've roughed out a sketch. But admittedly I'm not confident that my math is correct. I thought software might be very useful.

Thanks

B

There used to be several knitting software programs in general and I can only find a few and those were for windows.

I'm a mac user and I haven't come across any pattern designing software for mac. There is a motif maker for OS X, but that won't give you any calculations.

If you can get your hands on a copy of Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Knitting Pattern, it may help you correlate your figures.

Amy sells it in the KH shop here and calls it her most used pattern book for sweaters, hats, mittens, etc. It's very versatile.
