Getting Organized.

I've gone from a simple backpack style bag to a drawer system for organizing my knitting supplies. I guess it'll do for now, but I'll need more room if I keep collecting yarn at the pace I am going now. I just ordered three new skeins from yarnmarket.com and I haven't even finished my first project yet!!

I think I may have a yarn hoarding problem. :teehee:

Yarn hoarding problem? What's that? You must explain, please, as I've never heard of it before. I only have one cabinet with doors stuffed full, yarn on top of it and yarn that really hasn't been assigned a residence yet. It's called a stash. I guess I have yarn connected to WIPs too. A project in my purse, a blanket that must use up all of the yarn it's made of, a sweater, and I don't remember what else. I don't have enough yarn, nope, not me.

I have not even been knitting for 6 months, and suddenly I seem to have yarn everywhere! I am like a crack addict!

I have enough yarn :roflhard:

For now, that is. Only because we are selling the house and leaving the area and we are in the process of decluttering and paring down. No worries, my stash will stay intact :)

Every person who has a hobby or does crafts has lots of material to work with. Carpenters have stacks of wood, artists have several different kinds (and lots) of paint and canvases, hunters have lots of guns and ammo, fishermen have lots of lures and rods and reels, etc. etc.

So it only stands to reason that a knitter would have lots of yarn. I say it's high time we stop making excuses for it and embrace this fact!

I have an embarrassing plenty of yarn ... which drives my partner demented and our two cat's insane

I completely agree, Antares. I also am an amateur artist, so I have a ton of paints, canvases, colored pencils, sketch books and charcoals around the house. I can totally understand how one's hobbies/livelihood not only consume the person, but their living space as well.
