pls Help im a beginner

I am kniting a raglan sleeve childs sweater and Im a beginner. I am dividing for body and sleeve where it says knit to first sm, slip 28 sts to holder ( which i did) but then says CO 8sts, knit sts of the back, slip 28sts of the other sleeve to holder. Co on 8sts, knit to end
Do these new 8 sts come with the front or with the back sts I have to place markers when I start increasing.
Do I knit the front body +8sts and then place the marker?
Hope im not sounding too confusing. Im doing a raglan sleeve sweater by lililandia

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Is this a top down sweater? Sounds like the 8sts on each side will be part of the body under the arm so probably 4sts for the back and 4sts for the front on each side. Can you post a link to the pattern or give a pattern name?

The pattern is taken off the net
Lililandia-vuodatus.net.
Keiju (finnish word for fairy) is top-down knit bolero with raglan sleeves and one button fastening.

Thank you

OK, how adorable. Here's a link.

Yes, the markers go at the sides of the sweater to mark what would be the side seams. (Place sm under the sleeve to indicate right and left side "seam".)
So on the next row, place the markers in the middle of the 8 cast on sts on each side.
