Increasing in sleeve
My pattern calls for 54 stitches. After 2" of ribbing the pattern goes K2*K5,P5; rep from *to last 2 sts, K2. Row 2 (WS) K1, P1, *K5, P5 rep from * to last 2 stitches , P1K1
Increase row (RS)
K2, M1, work in pattern to last 2 stitches, M1, K2=2 stitches increased. Repeat inc every 8th. row 12 more times, working increased sitiches into pattern - (80 stitches)

Here is what I cannot understand - if i do row 1, row 2, row 1, row 2, row 1, row 2, ,row 1 - then when I increase I will be on the WS not the right side. Should I just increase every 7th row of pattern and then start off WS row next? I am ready to rip this out. I need to understabd this before I try to incorporate increases into the pattern.

You could work one more row so that the initial increase occurs on a RS row and then increase every 8 rows. The increase will then always be on a RS row. (If you increase every 7 rows the increases will altertate RS, WS.)
