Unwanted holes next to eyelets
I am knitting a baby blanket that has decorative eyelets running in diagonal lines vertically. The eyelets reverse direction after every fifth eyelet, making a zigzag effect. There is a purl row after each pattern row. [On the chance that someone might have this pattern, it is "Elizabeth" from the Leisure Arts book Quick Knit Keepsakes, Baby Afghans by Melissa Leapman.]
I make a blanket for each new grandchild and have made four previously, but I continue to have a problem that I cannot solve. Some of the eyelets have a small hole next to them. It is not consistent, and it is not caused by a dropped stitch. It seems to be related to a slightly larger stitch next to the eyelet; so, I am wondering if it is a tension problem. Short of suddenly developing perfect tension, is there any solution for this problem?

I don't know what could be causing this, especially as it seems random. The pale blue blanket on the Ravelry page appears to be very well blocked and so evenly knit that I'm in awe. Perhaps the random holes will close up with blocking?
I wonder if slowing down and paying close attenttion to each stitch for a couple of rows might help.
