FO: Baby sweater, hat, and socks

Hi,

I have a few things to show. First, a baby set for my friend's new baby boy.

The pattern is Puerperium Cardigan, and the hat is just a basic matching hat. Sensational news -- I almost followed the pattern! :) The cardigan still missing buttons and has pins in it but I hope you get the idea :)

Also, I realized that when the raglan increase is made by kfb, kfb (side by side), not kfb, k1, kfb as I did for one of my sweaters, it looks better and lays flat.

Also, there are newborn size socks that I winged based on the fact that babies don't have triangular feet (that's how most baby socks on Ravelry looked like to me). Do you know what I mean, a very short and chubby sock? Cute, of course, but will it stay on?

Anyway, I made these with a shorter heel flap, I will report later on the fit. But I mostly made them as a keepsake anyway, if the parents choose to keep some baby items. Thanks for looking!

What a great baby set! I like the raglan shaping.
The socks look good to me but I'm interested to find out how the baby likes them. Awaiting your report.

What a sweet set! Your friend and her child are very fortunate.

Wow! You have been busy lately! What an adorable sweater/hat set, and those bitty socks are just precious. I wish I could knit as quickly as you!

Thanks! I don't think I knit fast but I surely knit at every opportunity. Two of my teachers at school don't mind me knitting during classes, AND I learned to knit without looking at my work -- yay! (Only stockinette st though but it helps). So now I can knit in class or during a movie at home, and it makes a difference.

Just adorable! I have the puerperium in my queue, but right now I am knitting:

You do such lovely work, this set is no exception. I love it. Those socks look like they should stay on, they may get used a lot before becoming a keepsake or even hand-me-downs! Keepsakes are nice, truly, but if I knit something I like to know it's actually used. Would you mind if they became hand-me-downs?

Good for you for almost following the pattern. I like both ways of increasing, the sweater you did is truly handsome and the increases added nice detail IMO. It's a matter of personal preference and now you know how both turn out you can do as you please, when you please. Hmmm, that sound a lot like your knitting habits already.
