Pattern help: knitted toy elephant
I need some help with a stuffed elephant pattern.
Hind legs (make 2)
Using the thumb method and A, cast on 32 sts.
Beg with a p row, work in St st for 21 rows.
Dec row: (K2, k2tog) to end (24 sts).
Next and next foll alt row: P
Dec row: (K1, k2tog) to end (16 sts).
Dec row: (K2tog) to end (8 sts).
It doesn't say to bi d or or pull the yarn through the remaining stitches so I have no idea how to end the legs.
These are the instructions for attaching the legs:
Join row-ends of hind legs and stuff. Stand body on flat surface and position legs wide apart, pin and sew cast-on sts of legs to body all the way around.
Any ideas on what to do?
Hi and welcome!
Is this the pattern?
It looks like you would cut the working yarn leaving about a 6-8inch tail, thread the tail through a tapestry needle and pick up the sts off the working needle, pulling the foot end of the leg closed. This is similar to closing the crown of a hat. The cast on edge gets joined to the body.
Yes thats the pattern! I figured I had to pull the yarn through the sts but I wasn't sure. Thank you for the help!
