Hand problems from Premier yarns?
So... I'm knitting a pair of socks and I've found several painful bumps on my fingers. I don't think they're blisters because a month or two ago I was knitting small ornaments very tightly and no such thing happened. I've been knitting more this weekend because we had a long power outage and these bumps have gotten very irritated so my guess is it's the yarn? Has anyone had any problems when using Premier Yarns: Deborah Norville Collection sock yarn? Or maybe when using purple yarns?
I've never used that yarn and I've never had the problem you are describing while knitting. I have however had what sounds like a similar problem while working.
I worked a fair amount with fiberglass casting material and if I handled the casts without gloves on I would get loads of bumps on my hands where I got pricked by the fiberglass and in a sense got slivers in my fingers.
I wonder if one of the fibers in the yarn is just rough enough that you are irritating your skin.
