edge question

For some reason, I picked up the habit of stitching the first stitch normally, and then slipping the second stitch (instead of the first stich like I think other people are doing). Does this make a difference? :?

Yes, there's definitely a difference! As an experiment, it could be fun, but as a habit, it's a bad idea--you'll want to break that habit, I think! LOL. I'm trying to picture it: I'm thinking the result will be even looser end stitches than normal (maybe even slightly ruffly), without the benefits of either the usual slipping method, or the usual not-slipping method.
