Counting ridges in garter stitch

I've missed you guys and gals! My pregnancy is nearing its end and my hands have swelled up! So no more needles under size 7 for me! Its a little depressing. hehehe

Anyway is there a trick to counting ridges when knitting garter stitch? Is there a tutorial online? or A pictuure or something? I'm supposed to do 39 rows, but got caught up in a movie last night and have no idea what row Im on.

Thanks, Candace

Every ridge in garter is two rows of work. So my thought in this case is that you'd have 19 ridges on one side and 20 on the other.

Good luck with the baby! :D
