I've been knitting up a storm! I feel like a have a bit of a handle on my Christmas knits now.
Still no modeling from Jim, so I'm posting the sweater anyway. Putting in the zipper was a PITA! I now have an intimate relationship with the seam ripper. |
GAH!!! THAT SWEATER IS TO DIE FOR! I'm in LOVE!
Everything else is great too, but that sweater kinda steals the show. ;) |
Wow!
|
Thanks Silver! That means a lot coming from you :)
It took forever though...took 27 skeins of Jo Sharp Silkroad Ultra and weighs a ton! I started it Oct. 6 and finished on Sunday. I worked on it an hour or two each night. |
Fabulous - welldone!!!! :cheering: :cheering:

Oh man.. I can almost feel it... seriously, I have goosebumps thinking about it. I love the cozy feeling from a heavy sweater. What gem you've made. Just lovely! :cheering:
AND JIM BETTER MODEL IT SOON! |
Just in case anyone (Kristin!) is interested the pattern is in THIS Debbie Bliss book. It's actually a woman's pattern, but Jim loved the cables so much he didnt' care. Plus I got lucky...the yarn I wanted to use was a bigger gauge and the math worked out so I could just follow the instructions for the woman's small (he's 6'4" and has LONG arms. thus the amount of yarn.) For a woman's small it's only 15 balls aran weight.

Wow great stuff! And that sweater, the cables are amazing! I am nervous about tackling cables for fingerless mitts, but to do them in a sweater, wow.
|
Cheryl, everything's great, but that sweater...OMG, gorgeous!!
|
WHOA!!!!!!!
Everything is beautiful but that sweater is just stunning! I hope I can knit like that someday :D |
