Anyone Recognize My Wheel?
My Dad (the great guy that he is) tracked down a wheel for me but only knows it's made in Sweden. Anyone recognize who it may be made by? :??
Thanks! http://knitnpurlzen.wordpress.com/20...another-hobby/ |
Looks a lot like an Ashford Traditional, but it has slightly different details on it and Ashfords are made in New Zealand.

I have no knowledge of spinning wheels, but I know quite a bit about Dads and I must say that you have got yourself an extra special one.

I would bet that is an Ashford Traditional. IT looks exactly like mine. If it is the Ashford name would be on the front leg under the flyer. The only thing that would make me question is that Ashfords are made in New Zealand.

:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: for you!!!
I also agree it is an Ashford Traditional. |
Yep, that's an Ashford Traditional. Hard to say what age it is. They really havent changed much over the years. The tip off to the wheel is the front legs. It's a good sturdy little wheel. If you find any numbers on it anywhere you can probably get Ashford to age it for you.
