My 12 yr old is a knitter!

Proud Momma moment...

My wonderful 12 yr old came home from school with a flyer... Her school was going to have a knitting class after school one day a week for 8 weeks. And she wanted to join!

She has gone now for 2 or 3 wks (I can't remember) and she is a knitting machine now! She picked it right up (and i know its cause her Momma is a knitter!) and has already finished a scarf for her best friend.

She is now in the process of making me a washcloth and a hat for herself :D

Wonderful! I think it's awesome that the school would offer a class like that!

That is so cool!

My DS is totally into so many of the things his dad is into, even at the age of four. It is my fondest hope that one of my children will one day be interested in one of MY hobbies, too. Especially, knitting.

I think it's wonderful that her school is offering a knitting class. I homeschool my eight-year-old daughter, and I taught her to knit last year. She loves to knit, cross stitch, etc. ...And I just love to watch her create. It's so fun to see them using their hands to do something "timeless" (rather than watch t.v. or play on a computer). :D

I taught my grandson to knit. He hasn't finished anything since his ideas are quite grand.

And he wants to try out my good stuff  I told him when he finishes a scarf, I'll give him a ball of alpaca. ;) I'm not too concerned, just yet.

How wonderful!! I taught knitting to our homeschool group last year. Both my daughters knit (ages 10 and 12 although they both started when they were around 9) and so does my son (age 7) they love the soothingness of the motion and comfort of the yarn.
