Mixing yarns when felting?!

Does anyone know if the Merino Wool on Knitpicks felts the same as the WOTA? I want to make the felted monogrammed bag from Patons for a friend, but she can't pick two WOTA colors that she likes. If part of the bag was in WOTA and part in Merino would it felt all funny?!

i can't say for sure. if somone else doesn't come along to let you for sure, you'll have to swatch to see if they will felt the same. some fibers felt faster than others.

Yeah, that. ;) I'd knit up a couple of small swatches and throw them in the washer at the same time, see how they felt.

if you are going to do that i would at least make sure you knit one that will sort of represent how you are going to knit the bag...two strands together, stripped, whatever. that way you can see if one felts tighter than the other and how they are when working together. Merino is lighter weight than WOTA is.
