FO: second pair of toe-up socks and small pinwheel blankie
4 Attachment(s)
Here is my second finished pair of Queen Kahuna Crazy Toes and Heels socks, done toe-up, two at a time on two circulars. I'm really liking this technique a lot! Now if I could only find my book which is MIA at the moment so I can do another pair... lol - I have about 22 balls of sock yarn yet to use!
The second finished object is a small pinwheel blanket for the Compassionate Knitting project KAL. Its about 13" across made from this pattern: http://www.knitlist.com/00gift/round-baby-blanket.htm . It needs a wash and a slight presing to get it to lay flatter. |
Everything looks great!! You did a marvelous job!

Wow, I cant believe those socks, they are awesome!!

Wow, everything looks great! I  the beautiful blanket for the Compassionate Knitting Project KAL. I've never done anything in the round before like that.
I am quite impressed by your socks. I tried toe-up socks once, but the short-row heels were more than I could handle. Yours turned out sooo nicely - and to think that you did it on circs too. I am in awe! :) kimmie |
Beautiful! And, those socks -- they're fabulous!!!

GORGEOUS socks!! :inlove: :inlove:
The blanket is nice!! |
I LOVE YOUR SOCKS! That color is absolutely beautiful. I don't think I could ever wear them. I would buy a foot mannequin like they have in shoe stores, to display my socks for the world to see.

Aww, shucks everyone  , thanks for the kind words! The socks were really not as hard as they look - the Queen Kahuna book is VERY detailed and walks you through every step very clearly (darn thing where did it go so I can get started on the next pair?! :?? ). The fake cable and rib pattern on the leg is deceptively simple as well, just YO's and psso's make the cable looking part. The blanket I had to do twice - I wasn't paying close enough attention when I started my increases in the first few rows and I ended up with one extra section the first time, and didn't notice until I bound the poor thing off and it was not even close to flat LOL! So I frogged the entire thing and started over. Its a good thing the pattern was pretty easy and didn't take too long or I might have just cried :frog: ;) .
