14 year WIP!

I popped home to my parents' place this weekend and found some of my knitting stuff from when I was a kid - I thought I'd share a piccie of this chap! I think I made him when I was about 12 years old in the school holidays :D

I then managed to find his buddy in the cupboard, who sadly never quite got finished :( ...

My mum and I spent some time on him this weekend, so we hope he'll be finished before another 14 years goes by! :rofling:

I was wondering if anyone had a longer WIP?!

It's amazing that it was still there! I guess parents save everything, huh?

He is very cute! And you made it when you were only 12? WOW!!! That's a great job for a 12 year-old!
I do have a WIP that I started in August of 1986  It's not knitting though, it's a tapestry.

Absolutely darling! I think it's wonderful that you are going to finish the fellow :D LOL, I'm afraid I don't have any unfinished WIPs, I'm the odd monogamous knitter ;)

Hah, that's great. What will you do with him when you're done?

loveswildflowers 04-17-2006 07:22 PM

How cute!! I am totally impressed that you were able to knit a project like that at 12years old. I'm just learning to knit, so I definitely can't top your record!

Your mom saved it all this time? How cool is that?!?

Hope you manage to get it finished soon & post some more pictures for us.

Now I don't feel quite so bad about my DM's scarf, which I haven't looked at for the past 10 days...

How fun! Amazing that you did that when you were 12 - something like that would scare me to do now - I guess we were all young and fearless at some point!

He's cute!

Haha - thank you! Yes, I also couldn't quite believe he was still there! It's funny you say that, my poor mum is always trying to get me to clear my stuff out (and the awful, mishapen GIANT grey elephant I made disappeared mysteriously a while ago ) - I hope we'll get him finished up and off to a good home soon :D
