sleeves--how long?
 

I am knitting my second sweater and need help with sleeve length.
the pattern states: when the sleeves measure 45 cm (or desired length) shape sleeve cap as follows...

Where should I measure my arm to determine a sleeve length that excludes the sleeve cap?

For me it would depend on the sweater styling {where the sleeve sits}, and how much shaping there is for the sleeve cap in order for me to decide how long to make a sleeve.

I usually measure the first decrease at the underarm and then start the cap shaping after taht.
