easy first sock pattern??
 

hi everyone, i would love to try to knit socks. i just bought a pair of size 3US dpn needles yesterday and some 100% cotton yarn. is there any easy pattern to knit just a basic sock? i just want it all white. I have never used dpns though but would love to try it out.

Just to warn you though -- 100% cotton is not usually the best choice for socks, as it stretches out and doesn't hold its shape very well. Cotton sock yarn usually has a little bit of another fiber in it to help it keep its shape, like elastic or nylon. :D

I always use a natural fiber (wool or cotton) with a little bit of nylon or elastic content. This is a really nice one that comes in solid colors: Elann Esprit. It's the same content/weight as Cascade Fixation, which I'm knitting on US3s right now. :D
