Ladies I Need Help
For my knitting class we're making a blanket.......individual squares in different stitches. So far I've messed up Bramble and Eyelet Mock stitch.
Since I'm going to be a grandmother........what blanket would you pick for a semi beginner ......just stockinette is too boring but I need something simple. Second question: does anyone have a particular brand of crochet hook to recommend? I don't like the standard metal with the fat heads. I like Susan Bates but I've heard the wood ones are good????? Help, oh please! Thank you. |
I don't know anything about crochet hooks, but you can find lots of blanket patterns at www.knittingpatterncentral.com to see if any of them strikes your fancy. Congrats on being a grandma!

Have you checked Lion Brand Yarn or Coats and Clark's Red Heart websites? They have free patterns...and I downloaded one for free from fabulousyarn.com (or fabulousyarns.com, I can't remember if the "s" is in there) for a diagonally knit baby blanket. They use baby alpaca yarn for it, and it's gorgeous. Bev's Country Cottage has a lot of free patterns, too.'
Almost any yarn website has free patterns, and there was a lovely baby blanket pattern in the last Family Circle Easy Knitting magazine. Also, if you live near a WalMart or someplace like that, they often have free leaflets that the yarn companies put out. Just some ideas. |
if you can follow a simple chart, i think this blanket from knitty gritty is adorable. now i just need somebody to get pregnant (as long as it's not ME, LOL).
