Cowl that converts to a head covering pattern
I'm looking for a cowl pattern that will also act as a head covering. Any ideas?

This may not be at all what you're looking for, but it was the first thing that came to mind:

There is an option that is based on the "magic scarf". Basically, you can knit it in the round, and then drop every fifth or sixth stitch and let them unravel. This allows the item to be stretched long like a scarf, or to be open like a neckwarmer or act as a hood. I made one for my son.

Gosh, you guys are great. I have so many to choose from.
I wonder where the name "smokering" comes from. Thank you again. Now to study the patterns and decide which one. What to do, what to do. Deeknit |
This is pretty too even though it is more of a turtle neck than a cowl.

Those are some great patterns! I love the one called a wimple at
carylldesigns Thanks Shandeh! It's so elegant yet simple. Can't believe that thing you made Carmen.... looks soo complicated. But I guess it isn't really. Nice job! l |
